Aletta Waterhouse

Aletta Waterhouse worked for the Library of Congress since 1990. With her husband Mike they moved to SCA in 2009. She was in charge of International Exchange Programs with countries in Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union and Egypt at the Congressional Library. She will introduce Club members to the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, including how they and their family and friends can contribute to the project and us its resources. The Veterans project collects, preserves and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war. Aletta delivered a very informative address to an audience of 120 followed by a good Q & A session. We signed up 6 new members and 7 re-ups. The Library of Congress (Aletta's former employer) will work closely with CH 99 and their new program, Freedom is not Free, to ensure all Veteran's stories can be shared with future generations.
