Master Chief Petty Officer Richard Rose

For December, SCA resident and Navy veteran Richard Rose will be our guest speaker. Richard served over 20 years attaining the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.

 

His MOS was Photo Journalist serving in various capacities including on the Admirals Staff from 1953- 1965. His duty assignments during this period of time were Yokosuka, Japan, Seattle, Hollywood and Point Mugu, CA. He also served as News director of Armed Forces Radio, Twain in Taipei from 1956-1959. Richard served on the staff of Commander, Naval Forces, Vietnam as team head working throughout the Mekong Delta from 1967-1968 including in Saigon during the Tet Offensive of 1968.

 

He served on river patrol boats, combat helicopter squadrons and with Marine advisors. He ended his career as Master Chief Journalist on the staff of the Commander Naval forces, Pacific Fleet in San Diego.
