Recently, Ms. Sydney Ingram, long time SCAVC board member and bereavement officer, was presented the Channel 8 ACTS of KINDNESS award by news anchor Kirsten Joyce and was also awarded a check for $800.00.
Sydney was recognized for tireless volunteer work on behalf of active military and for veterans in the valley. She attends funerals for homeless veterans and those who have no family at the Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City on a regular basis so that not veterans will be interred alone. In addition, she also knits countless robes for veterans in the hospital.
She is a U.S. Navy veteran that also volunteers to assist the Blue Star Mothers organization on their various projects for active military deployed in war zones around the world.
