Women Warriors by Sydney Ingram

Sydney is a Navy Veteran serving in the late nineteen fifties to the early nineteen sixties as a Yeoman. She selected the Navy over becoming a nun. She took advantage of the GI Bill earning her license and Masters in Speech Pathology. This training paved the way for her to be the champion of veteran causes after retiring to SCA. She has been at the forefront of the Blue Star Mothers charity supporting our armed forces in combat. She also pens a column entitled “Woman Warriors” for the local publication, Vegas Voice. She has been a long time member of the SCA Veterans Club as well as a volunteer at St. Rose Hospital.

At our September meeting Sydney will cover stories of women warriors throughout history. Through the ages women have been involved in battles, and sieges, not to mention duels and prizefights. From the days of the Vikings to today, women have answered their country’s call.

Please join us to hear Sydney’s timely and interesting address.
