Lt. Col. Steve McCarthy (USA ret) will talk about the events that led up to 9/11

At every September meeting we focus on the attack on our nation on September 11, 2001.

For this important event our guest speaker will be resident and retired Lieutenant Colonel Steve McCarthy served our nation for 22 years in the U.S. Army. He is best known in our community as the skilled host of the Freedom is not Free series interviewing over 130 Veterans since 2011.

Steve graduated Summa Cum Laude from Norwich University, a renown Military institution founded in 1820. He later earned his Masters from USC. His talk will dwell on the September 11th attack on our nation by Muslim terrorists sharing thoughts and personal experiences about this fateful day in American history.

On September 11, 2001 Steve was scheduled to attend a classified contact briefing scheduled for 10:30 am. His agency was headquartered in Fort Belvoir, VA. He departed for the Pentagon when he was called and told to return to headquarters. By the time he returned total chaos was the order of the day. He lost friends and colleagues murdered by the Muslim terrorists.
On 9/11 over 3,000 American citizens were killed. From that day forward a war on terrorism was declared still being waged today.

Please plan to attend this special, historical meeting.
