Our Veterans Day program will be televised on Cox Channel 1960 or on SCA-TV.com on your Computer. The program will start at 11 AM on November 11, 2020, our featured speaker will be Lieutenant Colonel (USA, Ret) Steve McCarthy graduated from Norwich University with a BA in Government (Magna Cum Laude) and commissioned in the regular army in 1971. He immediately went on active duty, training first as an Armor platoon leader and later as a Special Security Officer. He served in positions of increasing authority while assigned in the United States and during numerous overseas assignments and deployments in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Upon retirement he continued his service to the nation as a Department of Army civilian in several positions ending his service as Chief, Plans and Operations, US Army Records and Declassfication Agency. He is the host of the SCA-TV show “Freedom is Not Free” and has lectured on variety of subjects related to military history. A resident of Sun City since 2005, he is married to Mary Lambert McCarthy, herself a retired lieutenant colonel and has one son, Kyle, residing in Springfield, VA.
