As the holidays quickly approach, it is time for our local Blue Star Mothers annual “Stockings 4 Our Troops” project. They hope to collect enough supplies to fill 1,200 stockings with hygiene items, snacks, entertainment, cards, and holiday cheer for our brave heroes in overseas deployments. Beginning Monday, November 9, 2020, a bin will be placed in the Anthem Center to collect your generous donations. Last pick-up day is Wednesday, November 25th.
In addition to the items listed below, they also need funds to mail all these care packages. Each large flat rate box holds 2 filled stockings and costs $19.60 to mail to APO/FPO/DPO addresses. They estimate total shipping costs to be around $14,000 dollars. Books of Forever Stamps are also useful.
