David Berman and Chris Mitchell, the Director of Development for Homes for Our Troops, will present an overview of the mission and accomplishments of this organization.  Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives.  HFOT is currently building three  homes for local, Las Vegas area Veterans.

Chris Mitchell owned and operated a successful landscaping company for 20 years.  He then decided to find a career where he would be able to utilize his passion for community service and helping others. He has been with Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) since October 2012.  He is an avid community volunteer, serving as a Scout leader for over 16 years.  He is the founder and president of Foxboro Never Forgets, served six years on the Board of Selectman in Foxborough, MA, served on the board of directors of the Partners in Patriotism Fund established by Robert Kraft, and also served and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.

Chris has been married to his wife Paula for over 32 years, and the couple has four children and three grandchildren.
