Our September speaker will be SCA Veterans Club Member, Gerald Peterson. In addition to being an active Veterans Club member, Jerry is our liaison with the VFW Post 12101. Jerry is a combat veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm in the USAF with 33 years of military service. He was a C-141 Flight Engineer and Instructor for 28 years, with over 5,000 flight hours. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant.
He is the former Post 12101 Commander and currently serves as the Post Adjutant/Quartermaster . He is currently the past Department of Nevada VFW State Commander. He also holds one more office; he is the Chairman of the VFW National Home for Children
If all his responsibilities with the VFW don’t keep him busy enough, Jerry is also the coordinator of the SCA Computer Club monitors and volunteers with the USO at the Airport.
Following Jerry we will have a presentation by Pat Hinds is a resident of SCA and an active member of the Woodchips as a project manager for home projects. He actually made a set of piper at the wood shop that he uses in some of his performances. Pat is a Scottish piper and his pipes are known as War Pipes. He performs in full Scottish cultural kilts and he will describe some unique features of his pipes, the history , and a few songs to finish off his presentation
